Model & Property Releases
When is a Model Release Required?
For any cinematographic, television, institutional, and/or advertising project (press, billboards, etc.), you must obtain authorization from people appearing in the image.
The same applies to:
- Recognizable brands or locations
- Any other copyrighted work
- Tattoos or distinctive signs that could identify their owner
Benefits of Releases
These authorizations allow:
- Commercial use of images
- Public distribution and broadcast
- Advertising and marketing campaigns
- Higher licensing fees for your content
Without a Release?
Without a model or property release, the image can only be licensed as editorial content, for example illustrating a news event.
Drones & Authorizations

Property Flyover
All drone flights must be operated legally and respect privacy. Any flyover of property or recognizable persons requires a model or property release (see above).
Protected Species & Prior Authorization
Capturing images of protected animal and plant species in French Polynesia requires prior authorization from DIREN (Direction de l'Environnement).
All photography and filming must be done with respect for the environment and approach regulations.
